Anthracite is the easy choice when white feels too plain and black feels too much. It is a deep matt grey that reads as modern and considered, and it works with chrome, brushed brass and matt black taps without you having to think too hard about it. Below you will find our range of matt anthracite bathroom furniture: floor-standing vanity units, basin units, WC units and all-in-one combination sets.
Vanity units that do the heavy lifting
If you want one piece to anchor a main bathroom, the Scudo Empire 600mm Anthracite Floor Mounted Vanity Unit and Basin (£229) is the one we point most people towards. It is a rich matt anthracite with a handleless recessed grip, so there is nothing to catch a towel on, and it turns up fully assembled with soft-close doors. Tighter footprint? The Scudo Empire 500mm Matte Anthracite Vanity Unit and Basin (£229) is the same sleek handleless look in a 500mm width, which is the sweet spot for a small bathroom or a cloakroom that still needs proper storage.
Prefer a bit of texture and a softer profile? The Amy Matt Anthracite Grey 600mm Floor Standing Two Door Unit and Basin (£229) gives you an integrated basin over a floor-standing base, with two soft-close doors hiding everything underneath. It is a tactile, understated finish that suits en-suites and guest washrooms as well as main bathrooms.
Hide the pipework, keep the look
Nobody enjoys looking at a soil pipe. A back-to-wall WC unit boxes in the cistern and plumbing and gives you a coordinating shelf, and both our main ranges have a matching one. The Amy Matt Anthracite 500mm WC BTW Unit (£149) is 500mm wide, 810mm high and 245mm deep, and it is built to swallow an awkward soil pipe position. Pair it with the 600mm Amy vanity and the bathroom looks like it was planned, not pieced together. On the Empire side, the Scudo Empire Anthracite 500mm WC Unit (£129) does the same job: 500mm wide, 810mm high, 227mm deep, supplied fully rigid with an uncut facia and backed by a lifetime manufacturer’s guarantee.
Short on floor space? The Empire 1100mm Combination Toilet and Sink Unit in Anthracite (£369) runs the toilet and basin together in one 1100mm line, with a solid one-piece polymarble basin surface and soft-close hinges. It comes left or right hand, so you can work it around the door and the window. For a cloakroom or a small en-suite, it is the tidiest way to get both jobs done.
A quick honest note
One thing to flag: at the moment our anthracite furniture is vanities, basin units, WC units and combination sets. We do not currently stock tall storage or mirror cabinets in anthracite, so if you want those they will come in a different finish. If you are happy to mix greys, it is worth a look at the wider grey furniture range or the full bathroom vanity units for tall units. For sets, see our furniture sets.
Is anthracite a good colour for a small bathroom?
Yes, more often than people expect. A darker unit like the 500mm Empire reads as designed rather than bare, and matt anthracite hides watermarks and fingerprints far better than white gloss.
Will the Amy WC unit match the Amy vanity?
It is built to. The Amy Matt Anthracite 500mm WC BTW Unit shares the same matt anthracite grey finish as the 600mm Amy vanity, so they sit together as a set.
